In June 2021, Huabei Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. spudded Well Shunbei 56X in the Shunbei oilfield operation area of Gaizikumuxiang, Shaya County, Xinjiang. An exploration well with a designed depth of 8,829 m, it is highly difficult to drill — a deviated well subject to severe conditions. With a conventional washpipe, replacements were frequent: at best one every three days, at worst three in a single day, becoming a major pain point limiting drilling efficiency.

Since a JJC Mechanical Seal Washpipe was fitted on February 5, 2021, a single set of seal rings has lasted through to well completion, greatly improving drilling efficiency and earning high recognition and praise from the crew.
In April 2021, the fracturing operation at Well Shunbei 56X was successfully completed at a depth of 9,040 m, setting a new record for the deepest acid fracturing well in Asia.
